The story begins in Prescott, Arizona...

During the Jesus People Movement, multitudes of young people were being radically converted to Christ. While many traditional churches closed their doors to long-haired, denim-clad hippies, Pastor Wayman Mitchell welcomed them without hesitation.

Pastor Mitchell’s firm grounding in the Word of God and his burden to take the Gospel into all the world ignited something powerful in those early converts. Within a few short years, young couples were being launched into surrounding cities to pioneer new churches.

In 1976, following the pattern birthed in Prescott, a couple was sent to Tempe, Arizona to start a new work. From there, a couple was launched into San Diego, California. San Diego later launched a pioneering couple into Imperial Beach, California.

It was in that Imperial Beach congregation that Uriel Servin Jr. encountered the Gospel that changed his life.

Raised in a broken environment and having experienced instability from a young age, Uriel found himself searching for meaning and direction. When he walked into the Imperial Beach church he was depressed, homeless and suicidal, he did not find religion or ritual, but the life-changing power of Jesus Christ and a local church that believed in redemption. He surrendered his life to Christ, was baptized, discipled, and quickly began to grow in calling and character.

In time, God opened the door for Uriel to be sent into ministry. He and his family eventually assumed the pastorate of The Potter’s House Christian Fellowship Church of Temecula, following Pastor Justin Carl’s launch into Betim, Brazil as a missionary.

The heartbeat of the church has remained unchanged and unmistakable:

Evangelism.
Discipleship.
Church Planting.
World Evangelism.

This is who we are.
This is what we do.
And this is the mission that continues to drive us today.!
